Happy New Year, From Indoor Snowball Fights and Obstacle Courses You Don't Want to Miss This!

Jan 04, 2023

Who said summer, spring, and summer birthdays were more fun? Not us.

It may seem like it is less fun to many children when your birthday is in the winter.

Let's face it often, it is cold outside, so children may not want to go out due to the weather, but the reality is, there are no bounce houses or water slides to slide down.

Luckily this article gives a few tips and tricks on enjoying a memorable birthday party in the winter. Ready? Here we go.

Indoor Snowball fight, yes, that is right, you heard it hear from Kidz Play Long Island first. An Indoor snowball fight is a sure way to have fun, get everyone laughing, and share many stories for years to come. These indoor snowballs are inexpensive and are found at most retail outlets and online. Stores like Walmart, Kohl's, and online at Amazon sell them.

They are soft, non-linting, and fun for even smaller children; the nice thing about these is that if the weather permits, they can also be used outside, and, don't worry, parents, they are machine washable to get rid of all those unwanted germs.

Two Ways to Play:

Option 1. Divide and conquer.

Divide the teams into two. Have the birthday Girl or Boy be one of the captains, then make sure each team has the same amount of Snowballs.

Set a timer for however long you want; our suggestion is 15-30 min max. The game's object is to have the least snowballs on your side when the timer goes off. When the timer goes off, the team with the least amount of snowballs wins.

Option 2. No timer, Whoever gets hit with a snowball is out; the last kid standing is the winner!

(Tip 2. make sure to make the rule no throwing at the face; anyone that does this has to sit out, it is a good idea to have a small whistle and, of course, have adult supervision.)

Option 3. Play both ways.

(Tip 3. Playing both ways will take up more time and make the party go faster.)

You might be reading this saying to yourself, this sounds like a great idea, but I don't have enough space to accommodate everyone for this, like a finished basement or an oversized garage that's heated with plenty of space. No worries, you can always consider rental halls in community centers, Veteran's Halls, or local Lodge club buildings.

Places like these are often much less expensive than a fancy banquet or an upscale venue.

Just make sure to have enough time to get there early to decorate it with the theme of your choice and set up everything the way you would like it presented.
